New Orleans
New Orleans has two sandwiches of its own. The po-boy is fried shrimp, oysters or roast beef soaked in gravy on crackly French bread, ordered "dressed" with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo. The muffuletta is a round sesame loaf of Italian cold cuts and provolone under a layer of olive salad, invented at a Decatur Street grocery and big enough to share. Official Rolex retailers to follow.
