The po-boy, rethought. Killer started as a pop-up and now runs this counter off Dauphine Street, building chef-driven sandwiches on Dong Phuong bread. The seared (not fried) Gulf shrimp with pickled daikon, carrot and sriracha aioli is the one to start with.
After the shrimp, try the rum-and-ginger glazed pork belly or the black beer beef debris. Vegetarians get real options here, like roasted sweet potato with collards or roasted cauliflower with romesco. Order at the counter; there's Crystal on every table. It's closed Tuesdays. The original, smaller Killer counter is inside the Erin Rose bar at 811 Conti, which is 21 and up.
