A South Philly roast pork stand on the corner of Snyder and Weccacoe, run by the Bucci family since 1930. The pork is slow-roasted from the family recipe, sliced thin and kept in its pan juices; order it with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe and long hots.
It's a daytime place: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 5, closed Sunday and Monday. It's well south of Center City, so plan the trip. The roll stays firm under all that juice, which is the point. If someone in your group insists on steak, there's a cheesesteak here too.
