A Roxborough mom-and-pop shop, just up the hill from Manayunk, grilling cheesesteaks since 1960. The fresh-cut rib-eye is chopped fine on the griddle so the onions and cheese get into every bite. Pick American, sharp provolone or Whiz, or ask for all three.
It's a trek from Center City, but it stays open late: until 10 most nights and 11 on Fridays and Saturdays. Regulars will tell you the soft roll matters as much as the steak. The Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand in 2025, one of three cheesesteak shops in the city to get one.
