Signature Sandwich
Pastrami on Orwasher's rye
About
Opened as Pastrami King in Williamsburg in 1956, moved to Queens, then landed on Lexington near 78th in 1998 under a new name. A kosher counter with a few metal tables, rye from neighboring Orwasher's, and garlicky pickles on the side.
Amenities
Dine-In Seating
The pastrami here is cut on an electric slicer rather than by hand, and it runs a little leaner than Katz's. Order at the counter; seating is limited, so on a nice day plenty of people carry their sandwich to Central Park. There are also branches on the Upper West Side and in Moynihan Train Hall.
