2nd Ave Deli – Midtown East

Pastrami sandwich from 2nd Ave Deli
Signature Sandwich Pastrami on rye

About

Abe Lebewohl's kosher deli, which lost its East Village corner in 2006 and reopened on East 33rd Street a year later. The pastrami is sliced thin, and pickles and slaw hit the table before you order.

Amenities

Dine-In Seating

Despite the name, this branch sits on East 33rd between Lexington and Third, a short walk from the 33rd Street 6 stop. It's a kosher meat deli, so there's no dairy: don't ask for cheese on anything. The dining room is plain and busy, and servers move fast, so know your order. A second location runs at First Avenue and 75th Street, with a separate evening-only room upstairs.
