Daniel Figueredo and Rosa Romero's sandwich counter, where nearly everything in the Cubano is made in-house: the bread, the lard, and pork marinated for a week before it's roasted. Michelin gave it a Bib Gourmand.
The Calle Ocho original is the one with the line out the door. If you want the same sandwich with less waiting, the Coral Gables branch is usually calmer; there are also counters at Bayside Marketplace, Aventura Mall and a takeout-only spot in Little Haiti. The pork is Duroc, and the shop renders its own lard for the bread.
