About
A Main Street tavern in the Village of Williamsville where the beef on weck comes off a carving station and is treated as the house's signature sandwich.
Glen Park Tavern's own site calls its sandwich a hand-carved beef on weck, and Visit Buffalo says the tavern bills it as its signature dish. Buffalo Spree went behind the counter: certified Angus top round, rubbed with a house spice mix, roasted for about two and a half hours, then carved thin across the grain onto a Costanzo's roll topped with caraway seeds and kosher salt.
The quirk is that you choose how much beef goes on it. Visit Buffalo's beef on weck guide says the carving station offers the sandwich in two weights, six or eight ounces.
It's a sit-down tavern on Main Street in the village, a short drive east of the city line. The tavern's site lists Monday to Wednesday, 11:30 am to 9 pm, and Thursday to Saturday, 11:30 am to 9:30 pm; it doesn't list Sunday hours, so call ahead.
