The big Penn Avenue fish market in the Strip. Wholey's started out in 1912 as a poultry and meat shop in McKees Rocks; these days it's all about seafood. Order the Wholey Whaler, fried whiting on a bun it doesn't come close to fitting.
The hot food is made to order, and you can eat it in the small upstairs dining area or take it with you while you walk the rest of the Strip. Wholey's lists store hours of 8 to 5, Monday through Saturday, and 9 to 5 on Sunday. If you'd rather fry your own, the fish counter will sell you the whole fish.
