About
Antone's second sandwich shop, on West T.C. Jester in the Greater Heights. Order the Original: ham, salami and provolone with sweet pickles and chowchow, the cabbage-and-green-tomato relish that makes it a Houston po-boy and not a New Orleans one.
It's served cold, which is the point, so it holds up fine in the car on the way home. Antone's has been making the Original since its Taft Street import store days; the bread has long come from Royal Bakery. The Galleria-area shop on San Felipe keeps the same hours.
