A smoky roadside shack on Falls Road just over the Baltimore County line, where top round turns over the fire even in the summer heat. The pit beef sandwich is a two-handed stack of lean beef on a crusty kaiser roll.
Order the pit beef sandwich, then dress it yourself at the toppings bar by the counter: thin-shaved raw onion, tiger sauce and barbecue sauce. The horseradish in the tiger sauce has a kick; the barbecue sauce is the sweet side. It's mostly a carryout stand with a few seats inside, plus picnic tables on the grass by the stream out back. Ribs, pulled pork, pit turkey, mac and cheese and coleslaw come out of the same kitchen. It has no website of its own; check hours before you drive up.
